Our History...
In 1999, after spending ten years with a multi-billion dollar corporation in the sales and distribution of product packaging materials, Mary Swanson left to start her own company, Swan Packaging Inc. A former National Account Director, her experience establishing strategic business relationships became the cornerstone for success at SPI.
With humble beginnings, Mary sold out of her home and managed all aspects of the company. Within a year, new employees were needed and an outside office was acquired. The company began to take off. In 2000, SPI acquired Prairie Farms and Schnucks Markets as clients and they still remain loyal, valued customers.
In 2003, SPI implemented a new global procurement strategy. Our client base rapidly expanded beyond the Midwest to include multi-national household brands, including the McDonald's milk label and Walgreen's chocolate packaging.
In 2006, a dynamic team was assembled with expertise in all aspects of flexible product packaging including product development, global procurement, graphics and customer service. SPI also acquired a warehouse, centrally located in St. Louis, MO. Our warehouse provides added value to our clients, as it affords a higher degree of flexibility, quality control and JIT delivery options.
In 2007, after years of experience in dairy lidding, SPI establishes its own label, Sealtite and is recognized as leader in the industry.
2008-2009, SPI forms strategic partnership with global flexible packaging company, value proposition prospers with additional capabilities and capacity. Client base rapidly expands including Russell Stover and ADM.
Today Swan Packaging Inc. is constantly evolving and growing to meet the needs of an ever-competitive marketplace. The company has demonstrated the agility and flexibility to compete with the largest flexible product packaging companies while retaining a personal touch in our relationships with our customers. We have the experience and resources to exceed the needs and expectations of our clients. Our employees are entrepreneurial and passionate in spirit. We are excited about our future.
